Description
2 Wednesday Sessions – Apr 22 & 29, 6pm
Get creative while crafting a functional and decorative piece! In this two-session class, students will design and build their own unique egg tray, jewelry dish, small organizer or whatever you want to use it for using 2.5 lbs of clay.
During the first session, participants will learn how to use a slab machine to create smooth, even slabs of clay. These slabs will then be draped over paper egg cartons and carefully shaped to form a tray with many compartments. Students will explore basic hand building techniques as well as how to make handles and how to properly attach clay together. Lastly students will be able to add texture, details, or embellishments if they wish.
In the second session, students will bring their creations to life with glaze, choosing colors and finishes to make their piece truly one-of-a-kind.
Perfect for beginners and experienced clay artists alike—this class combines creativity, technique, and a fun twist on functional pottery!
