Description
Sunday, Feb 1st @ 1:30pm
This hands-on workshop invites participants into the Clay Lab—a playful, low-pressure space for discovery and experimentation. We’ll explore how clay responds to touch, texture, and simple tools while creating small sculptural forms and wearable pieces. Students will learn how to press, texture, and shape clay using stamps, texture plates, and found materials, then refine surfaces for expressive results. No prior clay experience is needed—this class is designed for beginners and curious creatives alike.
Takeaways:
- Understanding clay behavior and open time
- Creating texture without precision or stress
- Confidence working with small forms
- Finished pieces ready for curing or further embellishment
Students will work with a range of professional clay media, including polymer clay, two-part epoxy clays, and hybrid air-cure clays, selected for safety, durability, and expressive surface effects. All Clay Lab sessions emphasize experimentation, personal expression, and the freedom to make mistakes as part of the creative process.
