Adult Acrylics with Jacey

Adult Acrylics with Jacey is the perfect introductory acrylic painting class for artists at any level. This workshop will dive into essential acrylic painting techniques while fostering individual creative expression to bring your masterpiece to life! Artists 12 years and older will develop their artistic style and voice in each of their paintings, and each workshop will be a stand alone session, where artists will finish their painting to take home with them.

Kids Acrylics with Jacey

Join Kids Acrylics with Jacey and unleash your creativity through the medium of acrylic paint. Artists will explore their own creative expression using colors, textures, and a wide variety of tools while also learning essential acrylic painting techniques. Young artists, aged 6-9, will build their creative confidence, discover various artistic styles and subjects, and have the chance to connect with other, like-minded, artists in this exciting new workshop! Each lesson will be a stand alone lesson, where artists will finish their painting to take home with them.

Wheel Throwing with Dr Trimble

Wednesday, Oct 30 (6pm) & Nov 13 (6pm)

Dive into the art of pottery with our Beginner Wheel Throwing Class! This hands-on course is perfect for those new to ceramics and eager to learn the basics of wheel throwing. Under the guidance of Dr Trimble, you’ll explore the techniques of shaping clay on the potter’s wheel, from centering and pulling to trimming and glazing.

What You’ll Learn:

Introduction to pottery tools and materials
Techniques for centering clay on the wheel
Basic forms
Trimming and finishing your pieces
How to reshape via hand building
Overview of glazing and firing processes

Pumpkin Decoupage & Marbling Workshop with Jayne Smith

Sunday, Oct 20th, 1:00pm

Come learn to decorate faux pumpkins with fabric, paper napkins and learn marbling too!

You may bring fabric and paper napkins if you have specific ones you want to use but we have plenty of seasonal fabric and napkins (including classic fall colors – Jayne just REALLY likes blue, hence the pumpkins in our image). This can be a messy class but come prepared to have fun.

You will leave with 2 decorated pumpkins!

Twisted Bracelet Class with Suzy Stripe

Learn how to create a twisted copper bracelet! Suzy will guide you through the easy to follow process (which includes antiquing)! Copper is an incredibly beginner friendly metal that also holds many beneficial properties. Every bracelet will be beautiful and unique to you as no two bracelets ever look exactly alike! You may choose to add beads or not – make your bracelet more feminine or unisex! Your take home piece will be 100% uniquely YOU!

Lil ArtReach

Join us for Lil ArtReach! Young makers ages 5 & under are invited for story time followed by a small craft. Lil ArtReach is geared towards makers 5 & under but big siblings are welcome. Caretaker/s are required to accompany young makers.

ArtReach for Adults

Join us for Adult ArtReach! This class is designed to unwind, destress and to have a little bit of fun. Each class will focus on a different medium of art and techniques. We provide all the supplies and do all the cleanup – you simply show up. Zero art experience required and the cash bar will be open.

Oil Painting with Dr. Trimble

Every Other Thursday, 6-9 pm

Instructor: Dr. Trimble

Oil Painting with Dr. Trimble is a great class to navigate the medium of oil painting. This class is targeted for beginning and advanced artists. Each class will focus on specific techniques through brief discussions and demonstrations. Participants will learn to use these techniques in real time by producing a painting, not just doing exercises. Each lesson can stand alone or be a part of the whole experience. The level of commitment is entirely up to you and our instructor, Dr. T, will help you every step of the way.

This is an ongoing class every other Thursday, 6-9 pm.

Watercolor Techniques

Join our Watercolor Techniques class which is an ongoing class that has been running at the Wassenberg Art Center for more than 10 years! Watercolor Techniques is a great class for advanced artists and beginners. Each class will focus on a specific watercolor technique or style through brief discussions and demonstrations. Artists will have work time to practice/experiment with the technique, style or their own art ideas while our instructors will help you along the way.
