Felt Ornaments with Cheyenne

Thursday, Dec 12th, 6pm

Join artist Cheyenne Linton for a cozy Felt Ornament Class! Using a template, learn how to create a Snowman, Tree, Gingerbread or Star Ornament out of FELT! Cheyenne will teach you basic hand stitches as well as how to add magical touches, like beads, to your creation. All supplies will be included! Expect to complete at least one ornament, but most students will more than likely be able to finish 2 ornaments – with all the knowledge to create more at home! These will make perfect additions to your holiday gift wrapping or tree trimming!

Open to ages 12 & up.

Winter Sgraffito Tree with Hope Wallace

Tuesday, Dec 10th, 6pm-8pm

Join artist Hope Wallace and learn how to SGRAFFITO on an enchanting winter tree form hand built by Hope herself! Each student will receive a 5″-6″ tree votive. First, you will glaze your tree by choosing from a selection of magical colors. Next, using special tools, you will carve a design into your tree votive. This class is for EVERY level of artist as Hope will guide you in every step along the way! Once complete, your piece will be fired in the kiln and ready to pickup in a week or so (we will contact you)!

This class is available to those aged 12 & up. Space is limited.

Holiday Acrylics with Jacey (for ages 6-99+!)

Join artist Jacey Eikenbary for a Holiday Acrylics class! Learn how to paint a whimsical tree from start to finish. This is not your average “paint & sip” type class – Jacey guides you through the artistic process allowing plenty of room for creative freedom. Grab a friend or family member of almost any age as this class is for those aged 6 to 99+! All supplies are included (you will leave with an 11X14 canvas)! Class is expected to take close to 2 hours.

Watercolor Holiday Cards with Beth Wright

Join artist Beth Wright for a fun and beginner friendly watercolor class – holiday style! Learn simple and MAGICAL watercolor techniques that will make your cards POP! You will create 6 cards using supplies provided by Beth INCLUDING her handmade watercolor paints!!! Crochet Basics with Shena Rager

Thursday, Dec 5th • 6:00pm-8:00pm

Let’s get cozy this December by crocheting your very own beanie or making one to gift! Choose any size between 0-3 month and adult. Must have knowledge of basic stitches to complete your beanie. If unable to finish within time frame then we’ll make sure instructions are clear prior to leaving so you can finish at home!

Beginner Experience Required: must be able to complete basic stitches

All supplies included (1 skein of yarn, 10mm hook, tapestry needle):

Yule Log Workshop

Sunday, December 15 @ 1pm

Back by popular demand! Join us for a morning of crafting as you create-your-own holiday yule log (real wood, not the cake)! During this workshop, we will discuss the origins behind this ancient tradition, as well as the significant meanings of the elements used to create your yule log.

Materials included (but not limited to):
• variety of pre-cut and drilled 14″ to 16” wood logs
• fresh evergreens, herbs, pine cones, etc…
• cinnamon sticks, orange slices & cloves
• ribbon
• tapered candles (3 per yule log)

* Feel free to forage and bring your own natural elements, especially if there is something that has a special meaning to you or your family (such as a sprig from a tree or other plant).

You can use your yule log as a centerpiece for your holiday events and/or celebrate the winter solstice in a traditional way by burning on the evening of the solstice (Dec 21st). It can be alternatively burned on Christmas Eve or New Year’s Eve.

This event will be hosted by our ArtReach teacher Brandy Rammel. Sign-up early as this class fills FAST every year!

Lil ArtReach

9:30 am – 10:15 am (choose date when you register)

Join us for Lil ArtReach! Young makers ages 5 & under are invited for story time followed by a small craft. Lil ArtReach is geared towards makers 5 & under but big siblings are welcome. Caretaker/s are required to accompany young makers.

ArtReach for Adults

Join us for Adult ArtReach! This class is designed to unwind, destress and to have a little bit of fun. Each class will focus on a different medium of art and techniques. We provide all the supplies and do all the cleanup – you simply show up. Zero art experience required and the cash bar will be open.

Oil Painting with Dr. Trimble

Every Other Thursday, 6-9 pm

Instructor: Dr. Trimble

Oil Painting with Dr. Trimble is a great class to navigate the medium of oil painting. This class is targeted for beginning and advanced artists. Each class will focus on specific techniques through brief discussions and demonstrations. Participants will learn to use these techniques in real time by producing a painting, not just doing exercises. Each lesson can stand alone or be a part of the whole experience. The level of commitment is entirely up to you and our instructor, Dr. T, will help you every step of the way.

This is an ongoing class every other Thursday, 6-9 pm.

Watercolor Techniques

Join our Watercolor Techniques class which is an ongoing class that has been running at the Wassenberg Art Center for more than 10 years! Watercolor Techniques is a great class for advanced artists and beginners. Each class will focus on a specific watercolor technique or style through brief discussions and demonstrations. Artists will have work time to practice/experiment with the technique, style or their own art ideas while our instructors will help you along the way.
